the universal time idea was not very well received....
it seems, it just wouldn't do coz being drunk when the sun's up would be different as you can actually see where you're going, and of course, farmers can't plough the fields in the dark, AND it would be very weird to be telling your son "son, go to sleep... the sun's already up".... not forgetting that people working shifts because the other side of the world is awake would now be redundant!
so, ok...i suppose we'll just have to live with GMT +/- x hours...
