sleepless in bei jing!

on 14 June, de, may and i, packed our bags, and with lots of enthusiam and high hopes, flew to bei jing for a long awaited holiday. Because we don't speak mandarin well and after listening to the many horror stories about being conned in china, etc... we decided a tour group is probably our best bet. and so, we naively signed up with Summit Holidays which had the tagline "Beyond travel expectations"...

little did we know, we would be still be conned, but by the tour!!

we stayed near brothels in rooms which are either small/ smells funny/ had no aircond/ had no windows, brought to shop in jade/crystals/pearls/diamonds/ tea shops where they probably earn commission, rushed through all the historical places (so that we can spend more time at the above mentioned shops), ate cucumbers, carrots, cabbage, tomatoes and omellete e-v-e-r-y-d-a-y!!!, guide spoke mandarin most of the time though we opted for english speaking tour because majority of the tour group can speak mandarin (god knows why they opted for english speaking tour... does this mean they should neglect the minority??? did we not pay the same amount of money????)...

so, be warned... tours with Summit Holidays ?? think twice... three times... alot alot of times... before committing. we paid RM2,178. Not a cheap tour for off peak season (summer time)... might as well pay another RM1k and join a more reputable tour company. better yet, learn mandarin and go on your own.

how oh how... how do we seek recourse... is this what the government had in mind when they started MATTA fair?? is this value for money???

naf naf's on sale!!!!!!!!~~

woo hooooooooooo!!~~

naf naf's on sale.... again :)

i'm going to china on thurs. but when my friend said "naf's on sale!" how could i resist?? so i went.... and i spent... and i bought something that i could probably buy in china/ hong kong for a fraction of the price.

but i am happy.

and the point is .... as long as i'm happy! :)

i'm sure the quality in terms of material and tailoring would not be same for a fraction of the price... it BETTER NOT BE!!!!!!!! i'm approx RM300 poorer. significant, relative to my meager salary.... time to have my own business.

asexual...

we were at food foundry just the other day... yummy food at section 17... and the table adjacent to ours comprise of approximately 20 people, out of which 3 were guys! so i said... looking at the trend, women will probably evolve to become asexual!!! (my two other friends looked at me for a moment, and then at each other, and then started to laugh... it was just an idea :( ...

"like an amoeba isit???" de went..

"yea, just split into two separate individuals!!"

"amoebas live in water rite?" ... and de said "they are everywhere!".... "being asexual is so sad.. maybe that's why they don't live very long"

"what's their lifespan like?"

"short... i think they are some form of parasite... give no benefit one!"

may went "not simbiotic meh? or... what's the other type?? parasite, simbiotic, and... what's the other one???"

"dunno le"... looks like all of us have return what little science knowledge we gained form high school...

my most-of-the-time-very-wise friends can sometimes be sooooooo farni.... in just 3 minutes, amoebas become parasites which have short live span and lives everywhere! (all unsupported... have yet to find time to google on them amoebas...) maybe when i get back from china.

or would any science ppl out there care to enlighten us??

crossroads and fast lanes

i think it's boring being at crossroads. it's always more exciting when a direction has been determined and one is hurtling at full speed towards the destination. not that the destination is what matters. but once direction has been decided on, then one can concentrate on finding the way there. when one in pouring everything into doing that one task, the journey to the destination would be an enjoyable one, yes? afterall people are happiest when doing what they do best. and when one is doing something with their all, what are the chances of not doing it well?

it's only when there is uncertainty... that one will not be putting in their all.

hate being held back. by who?

whoelse....?

dun talk when eating yummy herbal jelly

i didn't have my camera... so no pix, but it was darn farni...

jenn and i were in old town kopitiam in USJ, taipan... decided to have fake herbal jelly (btw, are the real "kuai lin ko" made from tortoise shells??... why is it called "kuai lin ko"??) ...we know it's fake coz it doesn't taste that bitter, and the texture is a little bit more gooey that the real thing.

anyways, it arrived and we drowned it in honey syrup. started eating and continued our discussion. out of the corner of my eye, i saw jenn covered her mouth and burst out laughing... then on the table, there were two blobs of tadpole-like jelly :) lesson : one should not talk when eating yummy herbal jelly....

we went on... and few seconds later, one blob of jelly was on my skirt... :) confirmed : one should not talk when eating yummy herbal jelly...

bad boys are like "chu yau chas"

are all women aged 16 - 26 attracted to bad boys? then once they hit 26 or so, they decide that the guy should grow up and be good boys?

or generally, all women are attracted to bad boys? and those above 26 +/- 20 years develop some form of rational thinking and decide to be not attracted to bad boys? can one decide not to be attracted?

what makes bad boys attractive?

a friend said, bad boys are like "chu yau chas", yummy but not good for you. then, i suppose that'll make good boys bitter gourd? acquired taste, good for you, but perhaps not what you would want at first sight?

i suppose bad boys are attractive because of the confidence they exude... some ppl have mentioned "security/ safe".... they feel "like the guy can take care of them"!!?? i suppose that's why the mafia boss or their right hand man always seems more attractive than the ikan bilises in a triad?!

is that really? dunno about the security bit, but i suppose confidence is always quite a turn on...

what about men? do they go for bad girls? i suppose they sleep with bad girls, but marry the good ones?

this should get some comments? yes?

B.O.R.E.D

my first weekend in june 07... woke up at 9:32am, ironed clothes. then came upstairs to check if streamyx have made my modem's ADSL light blink. and they fixed it! finally!! would love to bitch about streamyx... but if i do, i would probably have to start a label especially for them....

so, checked emails and then thought of blogging. about three of us (may, de and i) going to baskin robbins, USJ, just 2 nights ago to get the 31% discount! have never done that before. but you wouldn't believe the crowd!!!!!!!!!! it was like being in an mng sale. only the guys and kids there were a lot happier. we managed to obtain angka giliran of 709... and they were serving 650 something. so we were outside considering alternatives. how about "tong sui"? we decided to walk up the road to the van that's normally parked outside of 7eleven selling all sorts of "tong sui". and it was MISSING! the one day we decided to give it a try... ok, their loss... we walked back towards BR and on the way, we stopped by and had 3 sticks of fatman steamboat... such an easy money making concept...

back in BR, they were serving 690 something. so, we waited. after having tested a couple of hundred flavours (ok.. there were only 31... and we tried approx 4-5 flavours), we settled on run and raisin!! the yummiest flavour on earth. bought 1 pint each... (may bought 2)... and we stood outside eating ice cream. that was fun! :)

as i was saying.. wanting to blog, and take a picture of the ice cream (yes, there are some left coz i wanted mom to have some and she hasn't gotten around to it yet... and if she procrastinate further, there wouldn't be any left by end of the day)... but i was too lazy to go downstairs, get the camera, take the picture of the ice cream, go upstairs and upload it to the blog. kakakakkaakkakakakka... one is suppose to be lazy every saturday afternoon.

so, instead of blogging, i called my hairdresser... getting a haircut is an excellent cure to boredom... unfortunately, she was busy... so, i got myself slotted at 1pm tomorrow. will i still get a hair cut? depends... on whether i'm still bored tomorrow.

then, i started calling my friends... the ones who usually layan me when i'm bored brainless :) (teng kiu ppl, very much appreciated!!) ... may was in ikea, ming fong was getting a hair cut, jenn was in klcc and another jenn was in her "weekend villa", watching tv!! non of them bored!!! second jenn offered to go out... but i didn't want her to go out just coz i am bored... i want her to go out coz she really really wanted to go out with me!!! kakakakakakakaaakak.... "prove your sincerity"...she went "i'm not a ta po... if i'm a ta po going after you then i'll prove my sincerity"... "since i'm a cha bo, i offered.. if dun wan, then fine!!!" ..... "oooooooooooo..... how mean.... i'll blog about it.. kakakakakakkaka"

so, there i am, blogging my saturday afternoon away... oh... msg from jenn2 saying "hey... let me know if you wanna go out ya... call me after you have blog about my evilish attitude" ... kakakakkaa

should i call?? probably... dun feel like reading. just feel like sitting in a cafe, talk c@#k.. and while away the time... shopping? maybe... gym?? too constructive for a saturday afternoon... so lazy....SIGH. so hot... and i have to get out of the house. into the hot hot car... see how ler...

i wanna go bbq, by the beach, listen to the waves, feel the breeze, watch the stars, toast marshmallows.... anybody interested? last weekend of july?

ok. done whining... again :)...
