how much do you want it? do you really really want it?

i was watching a reality show recently... very very interesting. it's called "faking it". this particular episode featured a small town girl with an average figure, timid outlook, works as an assistant photographer. she is suppose to undergo training under a mentor (professional bikini model) for 4 weeks, then go for a professional bikini shoot with 3/4 other professional models, and 3 judges will try to figure out who is the faker... she went to gym to tone her muscles, gone for bikini wax, made to stand in her bikini on the streets to give out flyers (so that she's more comfortable with her body), make up sessions, gotten hair extensions, practise various poses, gone for tryout photo shoots, etc etc... and guess wat?? she made it! the judges did not guess she was the faker!

lessons learnt?

1) an average person can do wonders if he/she has the right attitude

2) confidence

3) definiteness of purpose (think and grow rich)... i was just reading the book... it stresses a lot on this point. and again, during the show, the mentor said after the first tryout photo shoot, that the judges would be able to pick her out, because she doesn't want it bad enough. professional models want to do well very very much. they want it 100%. but if you want something only 50%, it shows, through actions, through body language. and if you don't want it bad enough, you are not going to get it!

other than the show and the book, i was very recently inspired by a friend of mine. she's on a mission to be beautiful. she's going for slimming, facials, checking out lotions, ointments, asking about salons, etc.... i was so impressed! by the definiteness of purpose. she was certain about what she wanted. and it shows. the will power.... it has inspired me to do the same! (thank god i'm kiasu)...hehehe.... i want to play tennis well... and i'm sure i want it bad enough. so, i'm sure the aches and pains i have at this very moment is worth it. playing twice yesterday was good as it yielded progresss! and today i'll play again!!....
