why?

i had a very interesting conversation with a friend yesterday. she was saying that she heard me talking to other ppl about the conditions in this country.

how power is being abuse for the benefit of the elite few. how the ppl are deliberately turned against one another, made to hate one another, DISTRACTED! so that the elite few can continue milking the country of her resources. how we do not question what is done. how some issues are made to be "sensitive", so that we are careful not to question.

she said "you should be careful". look at the recent protests. they don't get what they want! why say something and get yourself into trouble?

all said in good faith. she is right. i should be careful. but i do not believe it doesn't make a difference.

need to be careful because the current ruling powers are very insecure. therefore any form of threat would be weed out. no such thing as hearing things out because the threat might grow.

but it does make a difference. sometimes, all we need to do is to monitor. sometimes, all we need to do is to question. i think the thing that is sorely lacking at this moment is education. we are not educated in the existing system. most of us may not know about the voting system. where do the ppl we elect go? what can they do? what are they suppose to do?? who is above them? how did those ppl get there?

to control the system, one must know the system.

what else do we need? we need an alternative. stronger independent parties. to replace the current jokers in the so-call opposition party. i had always wondered... is the opposition party real? or are they illusions created by the ruling powers. to give the ppl fake feeling of having balance of powers?

it's funny how we have changed. when we band together, united to fight another power. how we succeeded. how the small inequilibrium in rights and powers have been immaterial initially. how that has grown (who says power does not corrupt). how that inequilibrium has now caused discontentment. what is going to happen next?

i have no idea. but i have noticed one thing. those who can, are migrating. those who are here, are thankfully slowly begining to care. especially those who are married and have given birth. because now, their child would be affected. i have noticed that my friends who have children are the ones more passionate about this cause.

so what can be done? first, understand the situation. all the countries in the world are like women in a pageant. there are numerous titles to be won. there is a definite timeline... say one year for each woman to prepare herself for the pageant. our country is this beautiful chicky with 36-34-36 vital stats, great natural resources. brains being the ruling power, we are therefore lacking. what does she do? does she practise her catwalk? get the facials? manicures and pedicures? perfect her talent routine? does she utilise all the publicity for a good charitable cause? NO!!! she does not! she sleeps around with anybody who can pay. short term goals. earn as much as possible now! go out on dates and eat all the good food. that's what is happening.

a beautiful place where everybody can prosper and have good long term benefits. but due to mismanagement, she is dying... organs want to be donated!!!

what next? let's help her heal. by learning how she works. by monitoring. by questioning. it works. try it. to understand it at a smaller scale. attend a company AGM. start questioning. don't take stupid answers sitting down. insist on a good answer. when the directors know the owners are not dumb, they will sit up. and buck up.

Interesting analogy comparing our country to a beauty pageant contestant :).
