If it's your first time...

... visiting Malaysia! then the have-to-dos are :

1) visit the pasar malam - night markets found in suburbs... where you'll find lots of yummy local food, where you can munch and walk around, and blend in with the locals! If you are in KL/ Selangor : Wednesdays - Cheras, Fridays - Puchong, Sundays - Subang Jaya.

2) Eat durian - seasonal, it's an acquired taste...

3) have a mamak session - al fresco cafe... we malaysians love sitting out in the open air... order limau ais, satay, roti tisu

4) Perhentian/ Redang (east coast of Peninsular Malaysia) - lots of sun, sea and sky and everything nice! nice tan, nice food, nice dive, nice sitting by the beach doing absolutely nothing ... 3 days would do...

5) go karaoke? - not sure if that's a fav past time where you are from... but here, we have many aspiring malaysian idols!!

6) go clubbing - for nice sarong party girls, i heard Beach club is good... for fun, Laundry, Savahn, Poppy

7) go fishing in RM5 per hour man made ponds - at wee hours in the morning... a fav past time amongst some provided you catch something.

8) white water rafting? - only if it was raining for the past 4 days or so... otherwise, it would be a quiet cruise down the river...

9) go stay in a long house - if you are visiting east malaysia

10) caving - if you are visiting east malaysia

11) mountain climbing - if you are visiting kota kinabalu (east malaysia)

12) golf paradise, a friend said - so, go golfing... apparently there is a nice place in awana genting for golfing...

13) genting - gamble the nite/day away!!! contribute to the malaysian economy... nice air cond like temperature....

any other suggestions from my beloved friends?

wish somebody would write me a list for Barcelona...

this should probably get me some hits :) ... if somebody who is about to visit malaysia google for things to do in malaysia, nice food in malaysia, fun, sights, interesting places... did i forget any other key words?... kakakakaakakaaka... i'm cheating!! :) but i did provide a pretty good list... so.

What about golf? Malaysia is a golfing paradise. The weather is forever great, the prices are reasonably cheap compare to China and there are so many golf courses to choose from.
I think another attraction is Genting. That's a favourite tourist site!

Barcelona is mostly Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, and other Gaudi buildings. Very interesting. Tapas. La Rambla. Funicular. Olympic village and beach front. Beware gypsies (no they are not in flowy garbs and beads anymore) and other pickpockets or backpack slicers. You won't even know it. Get the Lonely Planet; very useful.

Hey,

How about the great East Coast area like Kuantan? Great beaches, seafood, hiking, caving, golf (one of the best course in Malaysia), friendly people........ etc.
