On the other side of the fence

Grass always looks greener on the other side. So, I suppose only the wise ones know that one should always appreciate what one has in hand and enjoy this part of the long and unpredictable journey.

Then again, we were told time and again to not be complacent.

Such a fine line... we must strive for excellence and yet learn to be contented...

my first crush is getting married

*sob*.... my first crush is getting married! sigh... this calls for some serious heavy duty retail theraphy :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! May you have a wonderful marriage. As a wise friend once tried to drum into my head, "Enjoy the journey!"...

bkk

bangkok... loved it! loved the city, the people, the markets (jj & suan lum), the tuk tuk, the energy, the mango sticky rice, the sparkly gem showroom, the massage, the slippers, the thai pants (sarong type), the temples,... etc etc

rat race... to run again or not to run again

imagine u are this rat... in this building with many different wings, all connected... with many many flight of stairs. on top of each building is cheeseland! path is quite clear... just run up the stairs. if u get bored, run to connecting wing, and continue up the stairs. sometimes, the building is not very tall, u get to cheeseland faster. and sometimes, u run in circles and never find cheeseland. and sometimes, u might be running downwards when u think u are running up. but it's pretty predictable. just keep running. and be careful of other rats going the same direction...

then at every level, there is a special exit. once u exit, it's dark outside. no longer within the building. but u know there is also cheeseland out there... somewhere... u've heard stories... stories of cheese so much u swim in it... cheese so easy, u dun have to run very long nor very far... then again, there are also stories of rats being eaten by owls before they can run very far. stories of rats getting lost, and never never finding cheeseland... very uncertain out there in the dark. but if u work at it, take the right steps, cheeseland can be nearer than you think!

so, here i am... out here in the dark. the door to the building still visible... barely. the lights are fading out. walking around a little aimlessly. cheeseland nowhere in sight. then suddenly, a door back into the buildings is open... right in front of me. do i run in? what do you think?

lost

ever felt lost? no? let me tell you how it feels like...

imagine you are a tiny piece of white styrofoam (white = boring), floating out in the big big ocean. no shore in sight... not a ship/vessel/sampan in sight... no direction... just floating in whatever direction the wave brings you.

then a very wise and very optimistic friend (another friend, i have tonnes of very wise friends!) told me... "sounds good. styrofoam is good... luckily u feel like styrofoam. very light, won't sink. somemore white in colour, easy to spot. last very long, won't bio-degrade! somemore if u find your direction already, add a sail, u will move very very fast in that direction!!"...

now, that is positive thinking...

always check before making a scene
